How to choose a style
Start with where the page is going. A calendar on a wall needs weight — thick cell walls and large date numbers that stay readable from a distance. A calendar in a folder or on a desk can be much finer, because you read it from a foot away.
Then think about ink. A hairline grid on white paper costs a fraction of a page with filled bands and tinted columns, which matters when you are printing the same month thirty times.
